Fellowship-Trained Gastroenterologist

Cancer Treatment Centers of America is currently seeking a full-time fellowship-trained BC/BE Gastroenterologist. Due to increased patient volume and the complexity of our adult cancer populations, there is current demand for this specialty at our Eastern Regional Medical Center located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in general gastroenterology and ERCP, with an interest in cancer care.

In this employed hospital opportunity, you will join an established practice that provides a full range of GI services. With a newly dedicated endoscopy suite, your duties include outpatient and inpatient patients on-site at our hospital location. You will have the support of hospitalists, an assigned mid-level provider, nutritional support services and ONS-trained nursing staff.

The Washington Hospital Center (WHC) is the largest, 926-bed acute care academic medical center in Washington, D.C. The WHC is the largest hospital of MedStar Health, one of the 10 largest not-for-profit health care organizations in the country, delivering major tertiary medical care to the Washington metropolitan area and local community with a focus on subspecialty care, and maintaining its own Research Institute.

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division enjoys clinical, research and education programs with fully accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. GI faculty physicians will have academic appointments from Georgetown University School of Medicine with academic privileges. They will manage ambulatory and hospitalized patients in an interdisciplinary setting, and take an active role in the implementation of clinical research protocols and practice guidelines. Currently, the Gastroenterology Centers of Excellence at Washington Hospital Center include initiatives in Hepatology, advanced therapeutic endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound, a clinical research consortium, GI motility, and an endoscopy unit performing 9,000 procedures annually. We are now recruiting experienced gastroenterologists and those with subspecialty expertise in GI oncology, GI nutrition, GI motility and inflammatory bowel disease, as well as GI Fellowship director experience are preferred to further expand the clinical and research centers of excellence within our Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division. The Gastroenterology faculty provide clinical consultation and GI procedures, resident and fellow education, clinical research, and clinical trials.
