The Albany VA Medical Center located in Albany, New York is seeking full-time Gastroenterologists to join a busy GI department and practice full-spectrum primarily out-patient gastroenterology. Our endoscopy unit is state of the art and our support staff are outstanding. Clinical or research interests in colorectal cancer, nutrition, hepatology or specialized training and skills in biliary endoscopy and/or EUS/ERCP are a plus, but not required. Night and weekend call required. Academic appointment commensurate with credentials. All applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, enjoy working as part of a specialty care provider team, have demonstrated interest and skill in the clinical education of house staff, medical students and allied health professionals, be willing to commit time to the planning, execution and publication of collaborative clinical research, function with patience and energy in a bureaucratic environment, enjoy working as a member of a multidisciplinary team, able and willing to participate in program development and process improvement, willing to make competitive and non-competitive grant applications, and be committed to professional development.
The Albany VAMC is a tertiary care medical center and an active teaching hospital affiliated with and physically adjacent to the Albany Medical College and offers a diverse, flexible and family friendly working environment.
