We are seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our well-respected single-specialty practice. Our 21 physicians include four hospital-based interventionalists, two Hepatologists, one Pathologist and one Radiologist. The interventionalists perform real-time ultrasound-guided biopsy and therapeutic interventions, complex therapeutic pancreaticobiliary endoscopy, celiac plexus blocks, deployment of endoprostheses, hemorrhoidal band ligation, etc. We operate two fully-certified Endoscopy Centers, a Pathology Lab, an Anesthesia company and have a large research staff, which is involved in approximately thirty clinical research and medical device protocols. Opportunities to teach Residents are available.

The appropriate candidate is a personable individual who can work independently within the framework of a large group and who has strong clinical, endoscopic and interpersonal skills. ERCP/EUS is a plus but not required. Private practice physicians, Academic physicians and Fellows are encouraged to apply.

Staff Physician (Gastroenterology)

The Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center seeks candidates for a Staff Physician (Gastroenterology). The selectee will provide direct patient care specific to sub specialty of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the inpatient and ambulatory care settings. Provides timely screening and resolution of consultations from other disciplines in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions specific to sub specialty including endoscopic procedures to units/programs in the Medical Center to which they are assigned and have clinical privileges to practice including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation and management. Orders diagnostic tests and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions. Ensures documentation of care is included in the medical record in accordance with the bylaws of the Medical Center. Provides supervisory oversight of residents, fellows, medical students, and Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant students assigned to Gastroenterology Service. Provides supervisory oversight of the clinical care on the inpatient service and ambulatory clinic of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Participates in team meetings and treatment planning conferences, and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members in a manner that enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care. Provides weekend and holiday coverage of the gastroenterology consultation service in rotation with other staff Gastroenterologists. Ensures that the practice of medicine is consistent with Joint Commission, CARF, VA policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, VISN standards, national statutes and regulations, medical record documentation, mandatory continuing education, and HIPPA policies.

Candidates must have an MD or DO degree and an unrestricted medical license. Successful candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English. Th e Corporal Michael J.
