Adding vitamin B12 to HCV therapy may help clear virus

Vitamin B12 added to standard antiviral therapy increased by 34% the ability of chronic hepatitis C patients to clear the virus, according to a study of 94 patients from the University of Naples in Italy. Data showed sustained viral response rates were higher for patients who had a genotype that is difficult to treat and for those with a high baseline viral load. Medscape (free registration) (7/17)
