Azathioprine use has changed Crohn’s pathway, study shows

Researchers from Budapest reported aggressive and earlier azathioprine treatment has led to a “significant change in the natural history of Crohn’s disease.” The study in the American Journal of Gastroenterology said the drug has caused reduced probability of disease behavior change and lengthened the time before surgery is needed.
