C. difficile infections at historic high, CDC says

Health care-associated Clostridium difficile infection and mortality rates grew in the past decade, according to the CDC. Seventy-five percent of infections initially present in patients in nursing homes or after care in doctor’s offices and clinics, while 25% present in hospital patients, according to the agency’s Vital Signs report.
