CT colonography study: 14.5% need colonoscopy

A study of 1,400 Medicare-aged patients published in the American Journal of Roentgenology found that 14.5% of patients would have been referred to colonoscopy as a result of CT colonoscopy, according to author Dr. Brooks Cash of National Naval Medical Center. In commenting on the findings, Dr. David Bernstein compared these findings to the standard for detection of adenomas of 20% to 25% for optical colonoscopy. News (7/2)
