Data from 2 studies link Crohn’s disease to psoriasis

Data from two studies showed women who had psoriasis faced four times the risk of Crohn’s disease but no effect on their risk of developing ulcerative colitis. The research from Harvard and Brigham and Women’s Hospital supports findings from smaller studies, and lead author Dr. Abrar A. Qureshi said the research corroborates anecdotal evidence as well. “We are seeing patients with Crohn’s disease and psoriasis overlap,” he said. MedPage Today (free registration) (5/15)
