Study: C. diff risk warrants “more prudent” use of PPIs

Dr. Douglas G. Adler and researchers from the University of Utah recommend that the routine use of PPIs for gastric ulcer prophylaxis should be “more prudent” based upon “sufficient” data supporting a link between the drugs and Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.
