As you know, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) this month released the 2016 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) proposed rule which, if finalized, would drastically cut reimbursement rates for colonoscopy and other lower GI endoscopy procedures.
ACG and the GI societies met with CMS officials this week to educate them on the significant impact these proposed cuts would have on practices and the positive trend in the U.S. of lower incidence and deaths from colorectal cancer. ACG continues to urge Congress to get involved and help thwart these cuts.
