If you are a GI clinician and you haven’t signed this petition – recently proposed Medicare colonoscopy cuts could soon become reality. ACG and the joint societies are working together to fight these cuts—but we need ACG members to take action.
Here’s what you can do:
Share the petition with your family, friends and colleagues by sending them this link http://goo.gl/zvrBNE and asking them to support you in the fight against proposed Medicare colonoscopy cuts.
Post the petition in your office and urge your patients to sign the signature sheet. Email or fax the petition with signatures to ACG whenever the signature sheet is filled up. Email email@example.com or fax to 301-263-9025. Then just re-post another petition signature sheet for more patients to sign.
This legislation is designed to further the public goal of getting 80% of eligible Americans screened by 2018 and is the only legislation currently in Congress that will prevent CMS from implementing these cuts.
ACG just received confirmation from an outside legislative research firm that the bill as drafted should indeed be considered “budget neutral” when determining how much these changes would cost the Federal Government.
Reach out to your U.S. Representative and Senators in their district offices. All politics is local. It is very important for members of Congress to hear from constituents while in their districts.
If you don’t take any action as outlined above, we run the risk of sitting idly while our specialty, our patients, and all the progress we have made as a nation in fighting colorectal cancer are in jeopardy.
We need ACG members to join together in this important fight against CMS proposed cuts to colonoscopy reimbursement.
If you don’t take any action as outlined above, we run the risk of sitting idly while our specialty, our patients, and all the progress we have made as a nation in fighting colorectal cancer are threatened.
I urge you to please take action now.
