Hear leading expert Ikuo Hirano, MD, FACG, review the dietary factors
in the pathogensis and treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis when
he presents the David Y. Graham Lecture, “Eosinophilic Esophagitis
2015: From Acid Reflux to Food Allergy.” Dr. Hirano is Professor of
Medicine and Director of the Esophageal Center at Northwestern
University Feinberg School of Medicine.

He is currently serving as site
principle investigator for the Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal disease Researchers (CEGIR) and the educational co-chair for International Gastrointestinal Eosinophil Researchers (TIGERS).

Dr. Hirano has written over 80 scientific papers and 25 textbook chapters that focus on esophageal and swallowing disorders. He has active grant support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for research in eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.
The Graham Lecturer is chosen by the ACG president and is subject
to approval by the Board of Trustees. Established in 2004 in recognition
of the many contributions to clinical gastroenterology made
by David Y. Graham, MD, MACG, this named lectureship was made
possible through a donation by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Inc., and
Meretek Diagnostics, Inc.
