“Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers. Your phenomenal work helps us collectively not only to build an essential community for gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers, but also to provide necessary expertise and guidance on issues affecting clinical gastroenterology.”
As a community of gastroenterology professionals, the American College of Gastroenterology thrives because of the efforts of volunteers. Across the world, GI professionals give generously of their time and share their knowledge to help their colleagues in GI learn best practices and advance in their careers.
By embracing of the values of collegiality, camaraderie, and collaboration, the College’s Officers, Trustees, Governors, committee members, and journal editors all volunteer to advance ACG’s mission and vision, and work to improve the GI profession for our members and their patients.
Want to help make a difference? Be part of the change you want to see. #MeToWe
Get more involved with ACG and join a committee! The work accomplished by the more than 700 members of the College’s 24 Committees represents some of the most important activity done on behalf of the membership and the patients we serve, as well as our profession at large. Their work is the source of the College’s growth and strength.
Committee assignments for October 2021 – October 2022 will be made in June, and notifications will be sent in July/August. If you are interested in joining a Committee and volunteering your time and knowledge, please fill out the Join a Committee form by May 15, 2021.
Thank you to all our journal editors and reviewers! In addition to ACG Committees, the College is fortunate to benefit from the skills and contributions of editors and reviewers for our scientific journals, publications which are read and respected around the globe.
Recognizing the ACG Board of Governors
Finally, I would like to recognize with deepest thanks those volunteers who serve the College on the ACG Board of Governors, a representative body unique among GI organizations. The Governors are a group of ACG Fellows who are elected by their peers. There are currently 77 Governors across seven different regions in the U.S. and abroad. The Board of Governors acts as a two-way conduit between ACG leadership and the membership at large. This helps the College make certain it is meeting the evolving needs of the membership. The ACG Governors also act as a grassroots force on important issues facing GI clinicians and organized medicine at both the national and state levels. If your practice is being impacted by state or local issues, get involved and contact your Governor!
Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers. Your phenomenal work helps us collectively not only to build an essential community for gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers, but also to provide necessary expertise and guidance on issues affecting clinical gastroenterology.
Sincerely,
– Dave
