The American Journal of Gastroenterology invites submissions for a special issue focused on Prevention in GI.
Prevention is of utmost importance in gastrointestinal disorders. There are many forms of prevention applicable to daily practice. These forms include primary prevention (preventing a disease or complication from occurring, as through vaccination), secondary prevention (detecting disease early as through screening programs) and tertiary prevention (managing disease effectively to prevent long term complications). For this special issue, we aim to understand all forms of prevention across clinical gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders.
All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review. Select papers may be highlighted with editorial commentary or featured in companion digital content.
Please clearly state in your cover letter that your manuscript is intended for the Prevention in GI special issue. This issue is scheduled to publish in Fall 2026. Depending on the responses to this request, some accepted manuscripts may be published in other upcoming issues of AJG.
Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal submission system.
Submission Window Closes: June 1, 2026
