The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.

Endoscopy: Pushing the Limits
Endoscopy permits the gross visual inspection of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, collection of samples, and elective and emergency therapeutic interventions. Endoscopy offers excellent outcomes for diagnosis and intervention, but complications can arise. We aim to enhance our understanding of the role of endoscopy in medicine in 2023. The American Journal of Gastroenterology requests your high-quality, clinically relevant human research dedicated to examining the tools and techniques used in diagnostic and therapeutic practice, endoscopic quality measures, and the economics of endoscopy for patients and clinicians. We will collect the very best original research, clinical reviews and video submissions into a special issue.
Please clearly state in your cover letter that your manuscript is intended for the “Endoscopy: Pushing the Limits” special issue. If accepted, your paper will publish online in advance of the issue, and then be collected into the Fall 2023 special issue in October. Depending on the responses to this request, some accepted manuscripts may be published in other upcoming issues of AJG.
Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal submission system.
Submission Deadline: June 1, 2023
