Central Maine Medical Center’s well-established and high volume Gastroenterology group seeks BE/BC Gastroenterologist to join our growing practice in Lewiston, Maine. Our health system, which consists of a 250 bed facility in Lewiston and Critical Access Hospitals in both Bridgton and Rumford, employs 400+ providers throughout a wide range of medical, surgical and cardiac services, half of which are primary care providers. We place great emphasis on quality and safety and CMMC has consistently earned an “A” Leapfrog rating.

The primary endoscopy suite is a state-of-the-art facility with 9 procedure rooms, which include ERCP and EUS capabilities. Last year, the gastroenterology group performed 8500 procedures in this facility.

PMCore Physicians a 160 plus multi-specialty provider network seeks a well-trained gastroenterologist to join current practice of 4 physicians and 2 mid-levels. Very busy practice doing in excess of 5500 office visits and 5000 procedures in an ASGE certified hospital based endoscopy unit. The current providers all share acommon vision yet all have their unique clinical and professional interests. The group seeks a collaborative high quality physician to further advance the abilities of the practice. Advanced endoscopic skills, including ERCP are desirable but not required. Shared call coverage of 1:5 and will not exceed 1:4. Practice is located in the beautiful town of Exeter, NH – only one hour to Boston with Amtrak train service 5 times per day. Requirements:
• Completion of accredited medical college/university with Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
• Current board certification/eligibility in specialty. If newly graduated from residency, certification must be obtained within three years of graduation.
• Successful completion of internship, residency and, if applicable, fellowship
• Unrestricted license to practice within New Hampshire
• Current DEA certificate without restriction
• CPR with AED within 6 months of hire

Major Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates the ability to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patient served. Provides safe, effective, patient centered care.
2. Actively supports and works in alignment with the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization in conjunction with applicable Service Excellence initiatives.
3. Completes charting, charge capture, and required paperwork in a timely manner in accordance with Core’s policies and guidelines by meeting or exceeding Core Physicians’ minimum standards.
4. Night and weekend call to be shared among the clinicians as indicated within call group where applicable.
5. Provides oversight for clinical services at designated location/s in conjunction with the practice manager.
6. Provides clinical supervision to NPs, PAs or others as applicable at designated location/s.
7. Actively participates in business development planning and implementation.
8. Stays up-to-date on relevant knowledge base, incorporates new thinking and best practice models into clinical operations and procedures.
9. Fully participates in Core’s quality and risk management program.
10. Fulfills specialty specific professional responsibilities.
11. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
