The G.U.T. Fund is bringing together the GI community on Giving Tuesday to transform and guarantee the future of clinical GI.

With your help the G.U.T. Fund will:

  • Support clinical GI leadership training programs that prioritize ethics, equity, and excellence.
  • Grow and strengthen clinical research funding for junior and mid-level career professionals.
  • Expand disease state-focused education program and provide access to noteworthy experts.
  • Invest in cutting edge initiatives to combine information technology and patient care.

I am extremely grateful to ACG Institute donors for their support of Institute projects and for their support of Junior Faculty Development Awards, of which I am a thankful recipient. It would not be an understatement to say that this award positioned me for success in academic medicine.

– Evan S. Dellon, MD, MPH, FACG

The funding Dr. Evan S. Dellon received assisted him into transitioning as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina which provided him with time to focus on establishing himself as a physician-scientist. The support he received from the G.U.T. Fund provided a crucial bridge between mentor-sponsored work during his fellowship and the development of his independent research program in eosinophilic esophagitis.

#GUTFUNDTUESDAY is an opportunity to give back to the GI profession, provide clinical investigators the funds for research that can transform patient care, provide furthering education for leaders, and so much more. We all have a role to play in patient care and effective health care delivery.

By supporting the #GUTFUNDTUESDAY initiative, make possible the cutting edge research for physicians like Dr. Evan S. Dellon.

The ACG Young Physician Leadership Scholars Program had given me an awareness of my own passion for my profession and the patients for whom we provide care. More importantly, the training of the program had given me the language, the understanding, and the voice for the role I was about to play.

– Dr. Elizabeth Paine, University of Mississippi Medical Center
