Author Insight from Pujitha Vallivedu Chennakesavulu, MD, MBBS

What’s new here and important for clinicians?
AI tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini simplify complex ACG educational content on GI cancers to below a 6th-grade reading level, improving accessibility. This is crucial since current patient resources on esophageal, gastric, hepatocellular, and pancreatic cancers often exceed recommended literacy standards. All three tools significantly improved readability metrics (p < 0.05) without compromising clinical accuracy, enhancing patient understanding and shared decision-making.

What do patients need to know?
AI can make complicated information about GI cancers easier to understand, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their care and treatment.
