Baby boomers can miss symptoms and be unaware of HCV status

According to the CDC, three-quarters of the 3.2 million people who have hepatitis C are unaware they have the disease, and many of those are baby boomers. Officials say symptoms are mild and easily overlooked. That’s part of why Gus Garcia of the Tampa Bay Hepatitis and Liver Disease Support Group says he hopes patients and physicians become more proactive about hepatitis testing. The Tampa Tribune (Fla.)
