Report questions safety of some dietary supplements

Dietary supplements touted as natural may contain active ingredients found in prescription drugs or high dosages of certain vitamins and minerals, which can cause side effects, according to Consumer Reports. The report, which outlines 10 potential hidden dangers of supplements, said from 2007 to 2012 the FDA received more than 6,300 reports of serious adverse events from people taking them, including 115 deaths.
