Study: Gut Bacteria Could Affect Allergy Development

Swedish researchers reported that infants with a high level of diversity in their gut bacteria may be less likely to develop allergies. The study in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology said the makeup of a child’s intestinal microflora in the first weeks of life plays an important role in development of the immune system.
