Recommendations for COVID-19 and Other Infectious Diseases

The American College of Gastroenterology endorses evidence-based public health measures designed to prevent and minimize the spread of infectious diseases. To support safely and responsibly convening at ACG’s educational programs, the College strongly encourages all in-person attendees at its meetings to follow national and local public health recommendations. While the College has convened meetings safely in the current environment, ACG cannot guarantee that an attendee will not be exposed to infectious diseases. Anyone experiencing symptoms should refrain from in-person attendance and instead participate in those programs available through virtual access. ACG will continue to monitor the situation and make necessary and appropriate adjustments.

2023 ACG Functional and Motility Disorders School & ACG Midwest Regional Postgraduate Course

ACG’s Functional GI and Motility Disorders School will review current goals of therapy and management strategies for IBS, utilizing the recent ACG Monograph on the Management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome as a primary resource. As part of a comprehensive approach to determining and assessing ways to improve communication, diagnosis, and management of patients with IBS, CIC, and other functional GI diseases, the Functional GI and Motility Disorders School program will have a direct impact on clinicians on the delivery of care.

The Midwest Regional Postgraduate Course will cover multiple areas including inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, small bowel and functional gastrointestinal disorders, colon, pancreaticobiliary conundrums, and the foregut and beyond. The structure of the program includes a mix of didactic presentations delivered by expert faculty, breakout sessions, case presentations, and significant Q&A opportunities.
