2023 LE&E Center Advanced Leadership Program Participants
Elevated Leadership Tools for Advanced Leaders
The goal of the program is to provide mid-career physicians (10-20 years post-fellowship completion) who are ACG members, with the opportunity to further develop comprehensive leadership skills. The program will develop a cohesive group of peer leaders who will serve as problem-solving consultants for each other and the College.
The Advanced Leadership Program in-person course will take place on June 6 – 8, 2025 in Washington, DC, as part of Leadership YOU. Leadership YOU will convene the four distinct leadership programs offered by The ACG Institute and The Center for Leadership, Ethics and Equity and will provide attendees with the opportunity to network with participants in all four cohorts, as well as provide cohort specific professional development.

Course Topics:
- Creating culture, managing relationships & mastering office politics
- How to run an effective and impactful meeting
- Financial literacy for the physician leader
- Communication – how to become comfortable with the uncomfortable
- Actionable emotional intelligence
- How to elevate colleagues and trainees through mentorship and sponsorship
- Navigating career transitions
- Recognizing the importance of work-life integration and the power of gratitude
- Becoming comfortable with vulnerability
- Developing strategic thinking skills and intentionality when leading
Attendees:
To facilitate a positive interactive learning environment and to encourage networking, the course will be limited to 15 attendees. Applications will be accepted from the following ACG members:
- ACG member physicians 10-20 years post completion of GI fellowship training
- A demonstrated trajectory of leadership roles in their private practice or academic institution.
- Based in the United States

Applicants will need to submit an application, their curriculum vitae, personal statement of interest in participating in the program and a letter of nomination form from the Chief of GI, ACG Board of Trustee Member, ACG Committee Chair, or Partner, owner/co-owner, or another senior managing role in a private practice setting. Please note that the required letter of nomination is a form with 3 focused questions to be completed by the nominator. The questions and form can be found here.
Applications will be reviewed by the ACG Institute and will be notified regarding their inclusion in the program (there are no registration fees for the program).
**2025 program application portal will be open September 16, 2024 – November 15, 2024**
Eligibility & Evaluation Criteria:
To choose the participants, the Institute will assess the degree to which the applicant meets the eligibility criteria of the LE&E Advanced Leadership Program. Applicants who are ACG members, based in the United States, and mid-career (10-20 years post fellowship completion) will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Strong statements of background experience and skills development that demonstrate a strong interest in Advanced Leadership training
- A strong letter of nomination from the 1) Chief of GI at your institution 2) ACG Board of Trustee Member, 3) ACG Committee Chair or 4) Partner, owner/co-owner, or other senior managing role in a private practice setting, who has direct knowledge of the applicant’s qualifications and leadership potential.
