P2583 Representation of Women at the American College of Gastroenterology Annual Meetings
Author Insight from Claire Jansson-Knodell, MD, Indiana University School of Medicine
What’s new here and important for clinicians?
The American College of Gastroenterology and its leadership have been including women physicians in proportion with or even higher than their society membership for speaking engagements and as post-graduate course faculty. We researched annual ACG meetings from 2010-2019 and saw this trend has occurred at an increasing rate over time. This research suggests that this academic gastroenterology society values gender diversity and is exhibiting it on a national stage.
What do patients need to know?
The ACG is an academic organization that is showcasing women leaders in the field at their national meetings.
