This Week in Washington DC:

  1. Medicare Quality Reporting: Are you prepared for 2013?

Visit the ACG Website for Guidance on Medicare’s Quality Reporting Programs
2013 is a crucial year for ACG membership and Medicare providers. Beginning 2015, providers will receive payment cuts for not submitting or successfully participating in various Medicare quality reporting programs.

This is a reminder that 2013 is the reporting year to determine these 2015 payment adjustments.

Fortunately, ACG offers detailed guidance on how to avoid these Medicare payment cuts. Please visit the ACG website or click the following links to learn more about:

2013 Medicare Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and the GI Clinician

2013 Medicare “meaningful use” of Electronic Health Records Incentive Program

2013 Medicare Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Program

2013 Medicare Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Quality Reporting Program

ACG also encourages you to take full advantage of your participation in the GI Quality Improvement Consortium (GIQuIC). Your participation in GIQuIC helps satisfy some of these Medicare quality reporting requirements. What’s more, there is no additional cost to GIQuIC registrants. Please visit the GIQuIC website or contact ACG to learn more.

Please stay tuned for further updates. Please also share and discuss your thoughts with fellow ACG members on the ACG GI Circle. To login and share your comments, go to gi.org and sign in as a member. Once you have done so, click here and then click the orange "Visit ACG GI Circle" button to be taken to the GI Circle site. If you have not yet activated your ACG GI Circle account, please email us at acgcirclefeedback@within3.com.
