Recommendations for COVID-19 and Other Infectious Diseases

The American College of Gastroenterology endorses evidence-based public health measures designed to prevent and minimize the spread of infectious diseases. To support safely and responsibly convening at ACG’s educational programs, the College strongly encourages all in-person attendees at its meetings to follow national and local public health recommendations. While the College has convened meetings safely in the current environment, ACG cannot guarantee that an attendee will not be exposed to infectious diseases. Anyone experiencing symptoms should refrain from in-person attendance and instead participate in those programs available through virtual access. ACG will continue to monitor the situation and make necessary and appropriate adjustments.

Course Description:

Join colleagues in Williamsburg for ACG’s 1-day Endoscopy School and weekend ACG/VGS/ODSGNA Regional Postgraduate Course. ACG’s Endoscopy School, to be held on Friday, September 8, is a day-long comprehensive endoscopic program that features both didactic and hands-on components. This “deep dive” in endoscopy will be of particular interest to community-based gastroenterologists who seek comprehensive training and education that is not centered around any single device or procedure. This program is designed to better enable clinical gastroenterologists and their advanced practice provider colleagues to diagnose and treat patients more efficiently.

Bring your entire practice and join colleagues at the outstanding ACG/VGS/ODSGNA Regional Postgraduate Course program, developed specifically for gastroenterologists, gastroenterology trainees, primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, therapists, and other members of the GI patient care team.

The ACG/VGS/ODSGNA Regional Postgraduate Course will be offered all day Saturday and a half-day Sunday, with an agenda that features presentations on upper and lower GI disorders, ISB/functional, IBD, liver, pancreatobiliary, and endoscopy. ACG President, Daniel J. Pambianco, MD, FACG will deliver the keynote lecture on The Landscape of Practice in 2023 where he will discuss the current climate for private practitioners and more. The program will also feature a special ODSGNA-sponsored session on Saturday afternoon, as well as fellows’ case presentations illustrating difficult GI management issues.

Step back in time and explore U.S. history in the Historic Area of Colonial Williamsburg, which is just steps from the Williamsburg Lodge, a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. Colonial Williamsburg features more than 500 restored and reconstructed buildings set on a 300-acre historic site. As a guest of the Lodge, you will enjoy discounts on admission passes to Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area, free area shuttle service, preferred reservations for dining at Colonial Williamsburg taverns and restaurants, preferred reservations for the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club and the spa, access to three pools and the fitness center, and more than 40 shops within walking distance.
