Course Description:

Mark your calendars and join your colleagues in Louisville, Kentucky for ACG’s Obesity and Metabolic Disorders School & ACG Southern Regional Postgraduate School, December 4-6, 2026. Both programs will take place at the Hyatt Regency Louisville, where guests will experience warm Kentucky hospitality in the heart of vibrant downtown Louisville. Step outside the hotel and find yourself just moments from the energy of Fourth Street Live!, with its dining, nightlife, and live entertainment.

Led by Course Directors A. Sidney Barritt, IV, MD, MSCR, FACG, and Catherine T. Hudson, MD, MPH, DABOM, ACG’s Obesity and Metabolic Disorders School, offered on Friday, December 4, is a day-long interactive educational program combining the complexities and rapidly evolving options for medical and endoscopic management. Given the challenging realities of patient management for obesity and metabolic disorders, with its intensive evaluation and consultation requirements, the College aims to help GI and hepatology practices coordinate care effectively, promote adherence to therapy, and ultimately optimize patient outcomes.

Led by Course Directors Elizabeth R. Paine, MD, FACG, and Judy A. Trieu, MD, MPH, the Southern Regional Postgraduate Course, offered on Saturday and Sunday, December 5-6, will explore areas that gastroenterologists often face in clinical practice and address management updates in a variety of gastrointestinal and hepatic areas. This course will cover multiple topics, including abdominal pain, altered bowel habits, nausea and vomiting, endoscopic techniques for everyday practice, abnormal liver chemistries, and more. This program offers a mixture of didactic presentations delivered by expert faculty, case presentations, and significant question-and-answer opportunities, as well as a Saturday afternoon hands-on workshop session.
