Vivek Kaul, MD, FACG, is currently the Segal-Watson Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University of Rochester Medical Center in New York. After attending medical school at Delhi University, he completed Internal Medicine residency at SUNY-Downstate Medical University in NYC and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He also completed an additional year of fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy (EUS & ERCP) at St. Luke’s Pancreaticobiliary Center in Milwaukee. Dr. Kaul joined University of Rochester Medical Center in 2008 and in July 2009 was appointed Acting Chief of the Division. His clinical, research and medical education efforts are focused in Interventional Endoscopic Ultrasound, ERCP, Therapeutic Endoscopy and Hepatobiliary disease. He is involved with programmatic development of Interdisciplinary Endoscopy in collaboration with other medical and surgical specialties at URMC, has keen interest in developing a Pancreatic Cancer Screening program for the region. He serves on several national gastroenterology committees, is a reviewer for several journals, and has several publications and presentations to his credit.

About the Senior Governor’s Award: This award is given to a Governor in the final term of service. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment of service to the Board of Governors through activities such as service on ad hoc committees, participation in local and state legislative efforts, national affairs, recruitment, correspondence with constituents, participation in regional meetings, speakers bureau or other special projects.
