Fitness in midlife may stave off chronic diseases later

Medicare claims data on more than 18,600 healthy men and women revealed that middle-aged adults with the highest levels of cardiorespiratory fitness had a more than 40% reduced incidence of chronic diseases, including colon cancer, later in life.
